Transitions: The Neglected Gap

According to it’s dictionary definition, the word ‘transition’ means a period or process of change from one state or condition to another.

Life and its different stages, are connected to each other by transitions. They are what unconditionally unite periods of our life that contrasts, and that very often don’t seem to be related.

It is surprising, and also very alarming, how life can give us 360 degree turns, and turns that are often even expected. Most of the time we are not prepared, more than often we think we are, but actually, more than always, we never are. It is impossible to be completely ready for something we have never ever experienced. The delusion of being ready, only cushions the inevitable impact of change- of reality.

Life is full of changes, it is a fact that at this point in history we are all aware of- and with much certainty.

Transitions, on the other hand, are a step often forgotten. A neglected detail about life.

It’s like trying to move from summer to winter, forgetting to put on a coat. It would not be so obvious if we didn’t felt cold in the first place.

They can be grand, they can just be a simple step, they can be as simple as putting on a coat.

Nobody knows. It is not the same for all. It is not the same for anyone.

Transitions

Perhaps, this detail of life helps us wake up from time to time. A much needed slap.

To be aware of what has passed. To be aware of what is to come.

To know where we are.

It can be confusing, often painful. But always, and never forgetting to be: illuminating and caring.
